RANDOMNESS

This week… today in the morning my parents + my sister left. They went to the airport to catch a plane to go to the United States to visit the Universities where my sister has been accepted. They will be gone for a whole week; this actually makes me feel a bit less stressed and giving me more liberty. So this week I have decided that I will work even harder and still have time to do what I like. This weekend I went to my farm only for Saturday and Sunday going there was also a dangerous flight because the weather was really bad and a cloud brought us down 500 feet. Now days my dad lends me the car in the farm so I am able to drive to my Grandfather’s house and to the flower park we have in the farm. I have to admit that sometimes I get a bit crazy with the car and I go to a place where you can kind of drift with the car, but when I start feeling that it is getting a bit dangerous I stop.

Lately nothing interesting has been going in my life so I have been finding it difficult to wright a post. That’s why this post is full of randomness :p.

Semana Santa (Spring Breack)

This spring break was probably one of the most interesting breaks I have ever had, this time I went to visit Peru and Argentina.
First I took a plain from Caracas to Lima, Peru which took 4 hours. In Caracas’s airport I saw many teachers from school but I only talked to one of them. When I got to Lima I was really existed since I love to visit new places (first time in Peru) we were all frustrated to get out of the airport and go to sleep because we landed like at 11 pm. We got to our hotel around 12 am and we lasted about 3o minutes waiting for the guy of the front desk to give us our keys. When we finally got them I rushed to my room, took a bath and to bed I went. In the morning the taxi driver that we took from the airport to the hotel told us that he could take us through Lima so we met him in the lobby in the morning. We had breakfast in a really nice café where I had a really nice egg with bacon and bread. So after that we went sightseeing and the place that really popped was the catacombs that went under a church. They were filled with bones and holes in the walls… it was creepy to say the least. Those were the second catacombs I have visited in my life, the first was in Italy which was not that creepy since there were no bones there only holes on the walls where they put the people which were not there anymore. One night we went to have dinner at a really cool restaurant which was next to some pyramids so while you were having dinner you could stare at the pyramids which I thought was really cool and the food was good too.
After two days in Lima we went back to the Airport to go to Buenos Aires in Argentina which we were going to stay there for 2 days since my dad had to go for business.

"Percy Jackson the Lightning Thief" and "The Oddyssey"

Recently I have seen a movie called "Percy Jackson the Lightning Thief" which I very clearly could relate it to the book "The Odyssey". Though they are not the same story line Percy the main character in the movie is a demigod and the gods think he has stolen Zeus's lightning bolt. So he has to let the gods know that he didn’t steal the bolt but first he has to finds some pearls which work to teleport out of the underworld because Hades has taken his mother. To get three pearls because he is with 2 other companions and the pearls work as a safe and fast transport or teleport to the place the character is thinking of. Through the challenges that they go through to get the pearls are somehow similar to the ones that Odysseus goes in the book "The Odyssey". The first pearl is protected by Medusa; this part is not connected to the Odyssey but can be seen as the sirens in the Odyssey (probably). But the second pearl is protected by the mythological monster which i do not know how it is called that every time they cut one of its head it grows 2 more, this part can be definitely connected to when Odysseus has to pass next to Scylla's cave which is also a 6 headed monster that... kills people. The 3rd pearl is in a very rare place which is in a casino which is called "Lotus Casino" in Las Vegas; this can very easy be connected to the lotus eaters in "The Odyssey".
Percy and his two other friends get trapped for 5 days in the Casino because they get offered to eat the lotus flower, so they forget about their past, time and most importantly their mission. The curious part is that in "The Odyssey" three of Odysseus’s men eat the lotus flower and in "Percy Jackson" they were also three that ate the flower.
I will not tell more about the movie because after this is when it gets interesting and i do not want to ruin it to the ones that have not seen the movie.

Carnival

For this carnival I'm going to be missing 2 days of school, tomorrow and Friday because I'm going to a wedding Puerto Rico. My father's youngest brother is getting married on Sunday and they decided to do their wedding in Puerto Rico so I will be spending the whole Carnival from Thursday until Tuesday and I come back that day since I have school on Wednesday. I really do not have any idea of how the plans are but apparently my dad submitted me into a golf tournament and I’m a little worried about it since I have not played golf for a long time, I haven’t even touched a golf ball this year because I have been injured every second of this year. First the fingers doing snowboard and then my foot skateboarding which I had to spend a whole week with crutches, now I hope I do not break anything during the trip.
I really did not have any desire of going to a wedding for Carnival, I do not know why but I don’t want to go and at the same time I also think we are going to have a lot of fun depending on what we do. The positive thing is that the whole family is going to be together (long time it doesn’t happen) and we are going to have the chance of meeting my new aunt’s family. The negative part is that I will be missing school for two days and those days I’m having test so I will have to study during Carnival.
I hope that on this trip we go a lot to the beach because I like going to the beach a lot, it is also kind of obvious because we are going to be on an island. For the wedding I will have to be dressed in a smoking so I hope that the party room and the church have air conditioned because if not, I will be in pain because of the heat.

Skateboarding

Last Wednesday i nearly broke my foot skateboarding, i was doing an Ollie and when i scraped my right foot to lift the board and when i did this the board went away on its own frontward. When i did this i landed on my right foot in the right side of it where the little finger is and i don’t know what i did but it was enough so i could not walk. I went to the doctor and i did not break any part of my foot but i hurt it enough that i had to walk around with crouches which was very painful for my arms. It was especially painful since my school is NOT meant for crippled people… it has way to many stairs, it does have an elevator but it only goes to the second floor and two of my classes which are Math and Science I had to go up the stairs hopping which was very tiring and when I got to the 3rd floor I just wanted to fall to the floor and rest, but I had to go to class. Also to get from some classes to another I had to go with the crouches a long distance. After some days my arms hurt a lot but now I’m ok and I can walkJ.

Christmas Break!!! Part 2

The rest of the days were skiing and snowboarding days. Most of the nights we went out to have dinner sometimes only the four of us and other days with the whole family, which was pretty fun. I have to admit that the food in Whistler is much better than the food in Vail, for the past six years I have been going to Vail and I prefer Whistler's temperature and food but not the mountain as for skiing.
This was my first year at Whistler and I really have a big desire to go back. But apparently this year 2011 our family will go to Europe in December some part in Germany to ski instead of Vail or Whistler.

Christmas Break!!!

Christmas Break was GREAT!!!
For Christmas I went with my family and my mother's family to Whistler in Canada and my dad, sister, mom and me stayed in Toronto for 2 days. In Toronto y got the chance to go and have dinner at the CN Tower which if I'm correct it is the tallest building in the world!!! Having dinner there was probably the best dinner of my life until now since the food was very good and also the restaurant was turning a 360 all the time, so your view kept on changing all the time and i was able to see all of Toronto from above. The next day we went back to the CN Tower again because there is a glass floor where we could stand on, which was nerve cracking since all you saw was the big drop and how little the cars and people were from above.
After Toronto we when finally to Whistler...(I was desperate to start Snowboarding), sadly I didn't have enough time to go and snowboard on the first day since there it got started getting dark at 4 pm and most of the lifts got closed at 3:30 pm. That day I rented my snowboard and boots, but before of that we had to go and buy all the food. The next day me and my dad finally got the chance to go out and ski, my mom and sister were to lazy to go out. That day was a relief to be because I was insanely desperate to start snowboarding.

More coming soon
