"Percy Jackson the Lightning Thief" and "The Oddyssey"

Recently I have seen a movie called "Percy Jackson the Lightning Thief" which I very clearly could relate it to the book "The Odyssey". Though they are not the same story line Percy the main character in the movie is a demigod and the gods think he has stolen Zeus's lightning bolt. So he has to let the gods know that he didn’t steal the bolt but first he has to finds some pearls which work to teleport out of the underworld because Hades has taken his mother. To get three pearls because he is with 2 other companions and the pearls work as a safe and fast transport or teleport to the place the character is thinking of. Through the challenges that they go through to get the pearls are somehow similar to the ones that Odysseus goes in the book "The Odyssey". The first pearl is protected by Medusa; this part is not connected to the Odyssey but can be seen as the sirens in the Odyssey (probably). But the second pearl is protected by the mythological monster which i do not know how it is called that every time they cut one of its head it grows 2 more, this part can be definitely connected to when Odysseus has to pass next to Scylla's cave which is also a 6 headed monster that... kills people. The 3rd pearl is in a very rare place which is in a casino which is called "Lotus Casino" in Las Vegas; this can very easy be connected to the lotus eaters in "The Odyssey".
Percy and his two other friends get trapped for 5 days in the Casino because they get offered to eat the lotus flower, so they forget about their past, time and most importantly their mission. The curious part is that in "The Odyssey" three of Odysseus’s men eat the lotus flower and in "Percy Jackson" they were also three that ate the flower.
I will not tell more about the movie because after this is when it gets interesting and i do not want to ruin it to the ones that have not seen the movie.
